Altenmarkt – idyllic winter residence
There are many reasons why Altenmarkt is so popular with skiers and snowboarders – here are the most important ones.
Excellent strategic position:
From Altenmarkt, you enter the Salzburg sports world via Kemahdhöhe. From there, you will see marvellous pistes and snow-covered slopes.
Lots of adventure for boarders:
You are guaranteed to meet at the Funpark.
The cosy atmosphere:
The centre of the town is marked by beautiful old farm houses and unhurried village life. What’s on offer: here, winter holiday makers get their money’s worth – from sports to Aprés Ski in trendy bars.
The relaxation factor:
Families in particular value this idyllic winter residence.
Radstadt – strongly recommended insider’s tip
Those in the know adore Radstadt: "The pearl of the Salzburg sports world Amadé", “The jewel between Dachstein and Radstädter Tauern“, these are the kinds of compliments that you often hear about this pretty little town. And indeed, the face of the old town of Radstadt impresses with its surprisingly undamaged historical architecture – old town houses, narrow lanes and cosy inns.
The pistes aren’t bad either:
The ski region of Radstadt/Altenmarkt is a true insider’s tip among connoisseurs and family skiers. It is sheltered from the wind, the area is assured of snow and provides excellent access to the many pistes of the Salzburg sports world, which is, of course, part of the huge Amadè sports world. Radstadt’s pinnacle is literally the Kemahd-Höhe, which is shared by beginners and piste acrobats, boarders and carvers. Particularly snowboarders love this mountain, which promises plenty of action with its fabulous Fun-Park. Every year, this ski region gets bigger and more modern – the new Königslehen II cableway takes skiers to the summit in no time at all.
Tip:
Our region has the greatest ski star potential in all of Austria: the greatest Alpinists are immortalised in the “Walk of Fame“ in Radstadt– from Annemarie Moser-Pröll to Hermann Maier.
