Hiking from alp to alp

There are more than 500 kilometres of footpaths in our region. It would take you several weeks to walk your way round all of them.

But there is plenty of time between the last thaw and the first snow flakes to explore all the destinations.

No matter where you are:
You can start from your front door. Rosskopf, Strimskogel and Lackenkogel, Steinfeldspitze, Bürgeralm, Schwemmberg and Rossbrand, just to name a few, are all at your feet. Which route you decide to take depends on how long you want to be out and about for and with whom. For a half-day high-altitude hike, the best thing is to take a shortcut using the mountain cableway. And your kids will be pleased that they don’t have to participate in a tour of 4 summits: the route from Zauchensee to the Gamskogl lodge to the Seekar district and Seekarscharte to Arche and back to Seekarsattel, then to Tagweideck, then to Schwarzkopf and finally to Gamskogel is exactly as far as it sounds: 5.5 hours for seasoned hikers. This does not of course include the breaks in the lodges!
